We are planning to perform an upgrade to our systems on Sunday 2nd August. This should cause no period of downtime to any of our services, however users of epp, and dac may experience a disconnect. This work should commence at 09:00am and be finished within 2 hours.

At 7.00 am on Tuesday 4 Aug 2009 we will have a systems outage lasting about an hour when we will be deploying software upgrades. During this time Online Services and EPP will be unavailable. The Automaton will not process email requests, but they will be received and queued for processing when it restarts.
All other Nominet systems will continue to work as normal during this period.

One Hundred Great Things - TIME
While reading about the Reddi-Wip inventor-Aaron S. “Bunny” Lapin, who recently died, I stumbled upon this great old 1998 Time Magazine 5-page article about some of the best inventions in the 1900’s. This puts into perspective the speed of technology. Just think of the early 90’s with Prodigy’s online service. More importantly, look back to the mid-90s when domain names emerged as the Internet came alive compared to where we are now with e-commerce, online video, mobile Web and new social media. The next big thing?
