We have completed the software upgrades scheduled for this morning and all Nominet systems are now available again. Online Service and EPP were unavailable for most of the scheduled downtime window (8:00am to 9:00am). DAC and whois were unavailable from 8:24am to 8:41am.

At 8.00am on Tuesday 4th November 2008 we will have a systems outage lasting for about 1 hour when we will be deploying software upgrades. During this time Online Service, EPP, whois, and DAC will be unavailable. The Automaton will not process email requests, but they will be received and queued for processing when it restarts. All other Nominet systems will continue to work as normal during this period.

We have fixed the problem with our process to update the status of domains (i.e. schedule domains for suspension, cancellation, etc.). The backlog of domain status changes has cleared and domains are being processed normally.

Since 7 October 2008 we have been experiencing a problem with our process which updates the status of domains (i.e. schedule domains for suspension, cancellation, etc.). We are investigating this and will keep you informed. This does not affect the lifting of suspensions on suspended domains, which will continue to be lifted within a few hours of payment being received.

The problem we were experiencing in the processing of DNS updates to the second level domains we manage (co.uk, org.uk, net.uk, plc.uk, me.uk, ltd.uk, sch.uk) has now been resolved. The backlog of DNS updates has been processed and all new DNS update requests are being processed in a timely manner.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

We are experiencing a delay in the processing of DNS updates to the second level domains we manage (co.uk, org.uk, net.uk, plc.uk, me.uk, ltd.uk, sch.uk).

The last updates processed were at 11:27am on 19th September 2008. Our systems are currently working through the backlog and we are investigating the cause of the delay.

You may continue to submit new DNS updates, which will be added to the queue. However please avoid resubmitting DNS updates you have already sent as this will add to the backlog unnecessarily.
